The Role & What You Will Be Doing
The Head of Public Affairs and Advocacy, will be responsible for developing and coordinating the execution of Policy Advocacy strategy and external engagement contributing to shaping Viatris’ operating environment for better patient outcomes in MENA EURASIA with a focus on the GCC.
The person will manage policy and advocacy capability development across his region.
This role requires leadership skills with proven success in advocacy, external engagement, market access and communications.
The role reports to Head of Corporate Affairs MENA EURASIA.

Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans related to policy and advocacy engagement
Identify and lead partnership opportunities with the public and private sector that empower patients’ access to treatment
Advise leadership team on external environmental trend’s risks and opportunities
Work with a cross functional team to enable advocacy on key therapeutic areas public affairs
Lead on external engagement with trade associations and business organizations
Leads the development and execution of strategies to manage the organization’s reputation, and external communications
Lead policy and advocacy capability development for the team and business leaders across the region
Ensure activities follow Viatris policy and legal obligations; Ensure compliance with all applicable internal and external standards
About Your Skills & Experience
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
Minimum 8 years experience in public policy and/or market access, government relations, public affairs, medical affairs, corporate affairs, communications
Language required: English and Arabic, French is a plus
Experience in the UAE and the GCC is required
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills: ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with external stakeholders and with internal cross functional teams
Strategic thinker: ability to distill complex issues and develop innovative approaches
Demonstrated understanding of the business and the ability to translate business needs into strategic public affairs and communication plans
Ability to accomplish company goals in a matrix environment, ability to work cross functionally
