Job Purpose:
As a Procurement Lead for the MENA region, you will lead procurement efforts across multiple countries and divisions within the organization, aligning strategies to both global and functional objectives. This role promotes procurement as a key value-driver for business success, achieving significant value contribution, benefit realization, and efficiency across procurement activities. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to meet business demands in terms of quality, price, and service, ensuring procurement plays a strategic role in supporting overall business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and integrate procurement services at the sub-regional level across divisions including DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, and Group Functions.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that deliver short- and long-term business results (1-5 years) in alignment with global and regional goals.
- Specialize in strategic sourcing of goods, services, and transportation capacities to reduce costs and ensure quality and supply.
- Provide strategic sourcing support for key business initiatives, supply market research, and intelligence to drive informed business decisions on investments and budgets.
- Oversee the procurement function’s budget and financial management at the sub-regional level, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
- Establish and manage sub-regional frame contracts, while identifying and developing strategic sourcing opportunities and partnerships with suppliers.
- Lead teams across the region, developing talent and fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Oversee the fulfillment of sustainability KPIs, ensuring that procurement activities support the organization’s sustainability goals.
- Manage the full procurement lifecycle including supplier selection, pricing negotiations, order processing, contract administration, and supplier performance management.
Your Profile:
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Supply Chain, Procurement).
- 8+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, with a strong track record of leadership and value delivery at a regional or sub-regional level.
- Proven ability to lead and develop cross-functional teams and execute long-term procurement strategies.
- Experience working within a complex, multinational organization and managing procurement activities across multiple countries.
- Expertise in managing procurement for diverse categories including office supplies, IT equipment, retail products, and transportation capacities.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation.
- Ability to balance short-term needs with long-term strategic objectives.
- Experience with sustainability initiatives and KPIs in procurement is a plus.
Countries in Scope:
Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates. You will oversee procurement teams located in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
