Job Overview:


The Head of Learning & Talent Development (L&TD) will be responsible for designing, driving, and implementing the learning and talent development strategy for AtkinsRéalis in the Middle East region. This role plays a pivotal part in enabling our people to develop the skills, knowledge, and capabilities they need to succeed and deliver in a complex, fast-paced environment. With a focus on regional and global talent, the role will work closely with senior leadership to ensure that L&TD initiatives support the company’s strategic business objectives and enhance employee engagement and retention.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategy Development:
    Develop and execute a comprehensive L&TD strategy aligned with the regional and global business goals of AtkinsRéalis.
  • Program Design & Implementation:
    Design, develop, and deliver innovative learning programs, workshops, and initiatives that foster a culture of continuous learning. These should address a range of skills including leadership, technical competencies, soft skills, onboarding and emerging technologies relevant to the industry.
  • Leadership Development:
    Manage programs aimed at nurturing future leaders within the organization. Ensure leadership development initiatives align with the company’s talent management strategy.
  • Early careers programs

Design and delivery of career development programs for new graduate intake across the region


  • Performance and Career Management:
    Oversee the implementation of our global performance and career management approaches  that promote a high-performance culture. Provide training and support to managers and employees on performance appraisal processes, career development planning, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Collaborative Partnerships:
    Work closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and senior business leaders to identify learning needs and talent gaps, and design of appropriate solutions. Collaborate with external vendors and consultants to source and deliver world-class learning solutions.
  • Regional Focus:
    Ensure  learning solutions are tailored to the Middle East context, considering local laws, cultural nuances, and business needs. Promote inclusion, diversity, and sustainable growth within the workforce.
  • Technology Integration:
    Leverage digital learning platforms and online content to deliver learning solutions at scale. Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in learning and development to continuously improve the L&TD function.
  • Budget & Resource Management:
    Manage the L&TD budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to deliver maximum impact. Measure the return on investment (ROI) of L&TD programs through analytics and reporting.
  • Mentorship & Coaching:
    Build a strong mentorship and coaching culture within the organization, empowering employees to take ownership of their development.

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (CIPD, SHRM, etc.) in L&D is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Talent Management, or Organizational Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in designing and executing large-scale learning programs within a multinational organization, preferably within the engineering, construction, or consulting industries.
  • Strong understanding of leadership development and succession management
  • Strong understanding of the Middle East regions, including cultural and legal aspects that affect talent development.
  • Experience in working with senior leadership teams and influencing at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to engage, influence, and inspire people.
