Ezra provides B2B digital lending solutions for emerging markets in partnership with mobile and digital wallet operators and financial service providers. Ezra supports 24 operations in 23 countries, across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Our key office locations are in Nairobi, Kenya and Dubai, UAE. 


Our flagship products are Advance Credit Service (ACS), Nano and BNPL


  • ACS is an airtime or data advance offered to prepaid mobile subscribers at the point of low credit. 
  • Nano is a micro cash advance offered to mobile wallet users on demand. 
  • BNPL facilitates payment instalments for products and services 

As a FinTech company, our business is entirely technology and data driven, from determining subscriber eligibility, generating relevant offers, managing risk, loan issuance, recovery, optimizing performance and reporting, reconciliation and billing. 


Each day we process approximately 21M loan requests and 1.4 TB of data across our markets. This process needs to be robust, reliable and secure. 


But it doesn’t end there. We’re exploring new ways of using our platform and transactional data to improve our products and develop new product opportunities. 


Overview

This is a critical, hands-on role responsible for driving commercial excellence through leadership in sales operations, governance, and strategic initiatives across the organization. As the right hand to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), you will ensure that commercial plans, forecasting, and performance analytics are executed flawlessly. You will also serve as the SPOC for overall project visibility and action item tracking for all Commercial aspects.
Working within a flat organizational structure, you will directly collaborate with senior leadership, ensuring clarity, alignment, and rapid decision-making.


Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Operations & Commercial Governance
    • Oversee and optimize sales operations to ensure effective governance and compliance with commercial policies
    • Develop and implement standardized processes for sales operations, ensuring alignment across regions and business units
    • Lead the commercial governance framework, ensuring adherence to policies, processes, and guidelines
    • Ensure regular CRM updates and provide periodic visibility into commercial performance
  • Forecasting & Commercial Planning
    • Lead annual commercial planning cycles, including sales forecasting, budgeting, and strategic goal setting
    • Collaborate with Finance and executive leadership to align commercial plans with broader organizational objectives
    • Monitor and adjust forecasts based on market trends, pipeline health, and business performance
  • Commercial Performance Evaluation & Visibility
    • Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to track sales and commercial effectiveness
    • Provide regular reporting and analysis on commercial performance, offering actionable insights to executive leadership
    • Develop dashboards and tools to enhance transparency into sales performance across all levels of the organization
  • Account-wise Analysis & Strategy
    • Conduct in-depth account analysis to identify growth opportunities, risks, and trends across key customer segments
    • Work closely with sales leadership to develop account-level strategies that align with overall commercial objectives
    • Monitor and evaluate account performance, leveraging data-driven insights for informed sales strategies and resource allocation
  • Project Visibility & Action Item Tracking
    • Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for overall project visibility in commercial initiatives
    • Track, monitor, and ensure timely resolution of action items, maintaining alignment with commercial strategies and timelines
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Hands on experience with setting up or effectively running sales operations
  • Experience of working in a fast pace growth company preferably in emerging markets, with complex partner management
  • Strong stakeholder management and adept in managing difficult discussion to challenge sales
  • Strong analytical background with a robust quantitative educational foundation
  • Proficient in Excel, Tableau, CRM management, financial analysis, and planning
  • Product/industry knowledge is a significant value-add
  • Demonstrated experience in any of the following areas: project management, commercial planning, sales operations, strategy, business control, F&P&A, pricing, or performance/business analytics, consulting
  • Proven ability to work in a flat organizational structure where individuals own their scope and interact directly with senior leadership
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the capability to serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership
