Job description: Head of Commercial AMEAPAC


The incumbent will be primarily responsible for the overall governance of contracts, pricing management, and contracts management of large projects in the AMEAPAC region. This role supports the development, and conversion of the right opportunities on the best possible terms for Aggreko and optimizing value and cash collection throughout the life of the contract. The role oversees three functions including Bid Management, Pricing and Large Projects Contract Management.
 


A strong understanding of the power generation landscape and regional market dynamics including energy transition initiatives, Renewables and Hybrid concepts.


A deep knowledge and hands-on experience of PPAs, O&M contracts and project finance.

What you’ll do


  • Define, deploy & maintain commercial Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), standard work by role, and other contractual standards that enable Lean implementation in both business transactions and the fulfillment of projects and services.
  • Lead projects/process improvement to execute Lean strategy within Sales & Ops teams.
  • Provide regional cross-functional coordination and collaboration with the Group Commercial team.
  • Drive the bid management process from enquiry to contract close with continuity into the operations phase.
  • Own and enforce governance framework throughout the bidding lifecycle including clear assignment of roles and responsibilities.
  • Work with the sales team to optimize pricing on every project to balance the best possible returns with volume of contracts resulting in best value for the business.
  • Ensure contracts are adhered to by the customer so that cash is collected in a timely fashion to minimize debt, opportunities are up sold, and projects are extended and expanded on terms that meet customer need at the right level of return and profitability for Aggreko.
  • Drive contract performance management (for large projects only) to full ownership of successful and profitable project execution.


You’ll have the following skills and experience:


  • Global energy market understanding, expertise, and network, ideally in the mining, oil and gas or utility space.
  • ​Proven direct and indirect leadership impact in a dynamic corporate environment.
  • Systematic and structured; able to develop, implement and improve processes and systems across a dynamic and diverse region  
  • Excellent commercial judgement including expertise in pricing projects ($100m plus revenue, 5 plus years duration) with a track record of successfully driving and negotiating larger contracts, including power project agreements (PPAs).
  • Complex process management & improvement spanning a 3-plus year sales-cycle.
  • Experience in managing contracts to drive better cash collection, debt reduction and margin improvement.
  • Excellent communications and collaboration skills across a broad range of stakeholders including internally, with customers and partners.
  • Experience leading marketing and business development functions.
