Role Purpose
Lead and manage the Accidents Investigation Section of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA). Drive investigation process for accidents/incidents to produce related reports in accordance with International, federal and local requirements. Determine the appropriate recommendations and preventative actions to achieve DCAA objectives.
Key Responsibilities/Duties
A. Functional:
7.Ensure compliance with non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, as well as DCAA security policies, to safeguard both government and DCAA confidential information. Address and rectify any ISR audit findings, promptly report security incidents, and engage in ongoing security awareness training to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure.
8. Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
B. Managerial:
1. Strategy: Set, communicate and oversee implementation of the Section strategy in line with the overall objectives, mission and vision of DCAA.2. Budget: Set, consolidate, review, monitor and allocate the Section budget; and forward to the Director for further approval3. People Management: Provide direction and manage subordinate staff in performing their delegated tasks; Provide professional development opportunities and perform periodic performance appraisals for reporting staff (in coordination with the HR) and recommend incremental increases and levels of financial rewards, e.g. bonuses and annual pay rises for staff4. Training & Development: Ensure that all direct reports acquire the required skills and knowledge through appropriate training programs (in coordination with the HR).5. Policies, Procedures & Processes: Ensure that the performance of various assigned tasks, and the conduct of staff within the Section are in accordance with the Section's policies and procedures.
Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree.
Certifications:
- Aviation Management and Safety Certification.- Aircraft Accident Investigation Certification.- Audit Programme Certification.
Professional Experience:
- More than twelve (12) years working experience in civil aviation industry.- At least three (3) years in managerial role.- Demonstrated skill in technical area and management.- Strong understanding of the discipline of investigation of aviation accidents and incidents, and its relevant ICAO annexes.
