Job Title: Consecutive Interpreter Location: Remote Job Type: Contract • Full time and Part Time A 360 Smart Lingo consecutive, over-the-phone interpreter plays a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between those who speak different languages. Consecutive interpreters work by listening to a speaker in one language and then rendering their speech into another language after a brief pause. As a consecutive interpreters, you will bridge language gaps, ensuring clarity and understanding in various over-the-phone situations.
Responsibilities:
Provide consecutive interpretation services during phone calls, meetings, conferences, interviews, and more.
Listen carefully to the speaker in the source language and convey the message accurately in the target language.
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity throughout the interpretation process.
Take notes during the speaker’s pauses to ensure accurate rendering of the entire message.
Respect HIPAA, and comply with various policies and best practices.
Collaborate with other interpreters and team members as needed.
Requirements:
Proficiency in at least two languages (source and target languages).
Strong memory and note-taking skills.
Excellent communication and active listening abilities.
Familiarity with various subject matters (legal, medical, business, etc.).
Professional demeanour and adaptability to different contexts.
Compensation:
Per minute rate based on experience and qualifications.
