Role Purpose
Responsible for leading the strategic direction, management, and execution of flight planning operations within the UAE. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all international flights, including operational and training flights, are planned with precision, safety, and compliance with company standards. The individual in this role will oversee a team of flight planners, flight dispatchers, and collaborate closely with the leadership team, aircrews, and external agencies to ensure the successful coordination of the flight. This role emphasizes resource management, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of planning processes to meet the operational objectives.
Job Description
-Lead and direct the Flight Planning Division, ensuring all flights plans align with the operational objectives.
-Oversee the planning of complex fl ight operations, including training exercises and international operations.
-Collaborate with senior leadership to align the division's strategic goals
-Manage, mentor, and develop a team of flight planners and dispatchers to ensure readiness and high performance for company operations.
-Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages professional growth and knowledge sharing among team members.
-Conduct regular performance reviews and training sessions to maintain a skilled and effective flight planning workforce.
-Lead the f light planning team in developing optimal flight routes that ensure safety, fuel efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
-Monitor weather patterns, airspace restrictions, and NOTAMs to make necessary adjustments to flight plans.
-Oversee the airport assessment process to evaluate airport capabilities, safety conditions, and compliance with operational requirements.
-Ensure regular reviews and updates of airport data, including runway lengths, facilities, and operational limitations.
-Work with the f light planning and dispatch teams to incorporate airport assessments into flight planning and risk management strategies.
-Provide input to the dispatch team, ensuring seamless communication and coordination between f light planning, load planning, and dispatch.
-Collaborate on f light safety, route adjustments, and regulatory compliance matters, ensuring dispatchers are informed of any operational changes.
-Ensure compliance with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regulations.
-Maintain and provide updates to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for flight planning, load planning, and coordination dispatch.
