Day- to-day operations:
Follows the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
Having the health and safety as the first priority on daily activities..
Responsible to arrange necessary safety work permits in desired work area.
Check and identify all the safety hazards as well as infringements that are being done within the area and raise near miss / hazard spotted forms as required.
Ensure monitoring of all activities are carried out as per approved Dept. Work Instructions.
Ensure that proper housekeeping is maintained throughout the production process.
Responsible to conduct toolbox talk with the team members for different quality and safety related issues.
Pro-actively participate in identifying process errors onboard / in the workshop highlighting and raise non-conformances through Occurrence Reports and Quality Observation notes.
Support Supervisors, Sr. Foremen and Planners in preplanning, generation of programs and follow up of all jobs in order to optimize utilization of resources.
Coordinate with Pipe Department sections as required for job execution.
Coordinate with Ship Repair Manager, Invoicer and other trades as required for the projects as well as for the resolution of interface issues.
Ensure compliance to best practices on welding quality and encourage and develop welding quality / productivity improvement initiatives.
Take the initiative steps towards improvement of the in-process work procedures.
Daily toolbox talks with Dynamic Risk Assessment.
Coordinate with attending Superintendent, ship’s crew, Surveyor and other external interfaces as required.
Prepare daily progress reports for job done under his supervision in terms of inchdia.
Preparing turn over for next shift including onboard welding progress report.
Working as a team leader responsible for On-the-Job Training, grading and performance appraisals of team members.
Controlling the man hours spent vs. allocated for the jobs.

MPI,DPT
12th STD/
CSWIP 3.0/CSWIP 3.1 is an added adv.
Minimum 5 years/Preferably at least 3 years in major ship yard
