Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
Oversee maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair of supply and control circuits on a wide variety of plant / equipment including, but not limited to, cranes, winches, pumps, compressors, motors, switchgear, machine tools, domestic electric and A/C system. Installation of electrical plant and equipment including building services. Prepare daily time sheets for the team and make sure overtime hours are controlled well. Prepare job turn over for next shift and prepare daily progress reports for job done under his supervision. Liaise with other discipline foremen / supervision to ensure the optimum utilization of available resources, with the overall objective of successful completion of the project. Assist the senior foreman and supervisors in planning activities. Ensure that the workers are properly supplied with machineries, tools, equipment and materials and everything is in proper order and state of maintenance. Perform inspections to ensure that the workers performance is up to the set standards. Create progress reports on a daily basis and ensure that any significant information is communicated to the supervisor i.e. resource shortfalls, surplus, HSEQ concerns. Work as a team leader responsible for development / motivation of sub-ordinates, on the job training and . performance appraisal of the team members. Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
Experience / Qualification & Skills:
Secondary school, Technical education – 2 years . ITI Electrician trade recognized certificate or equivalent. Industrial / vocational training ,Leadership training, Presentation skills. 5-6 years’ relevant experience in Marine, Newbuilding / Ship Repair yard or 2 years’ experience as an Electrician in DDW-D .
