Field Service - Controls Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controls Engineer to join our team in the UAE on a permanent basis. This role involves overseeing the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced control systems for a range of industrial applications, including Chemical, Petrochemical, and Oil & Gas sectors. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in turbomachinery and process control, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the flexibility to work in diverse environments worldwide. This position requires extensive travel and the ability to independently represent our company on-site, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

• Oversee installation, commissioning, and startup of control systems from Elliott and other suppliers at customer sites.
• Handle installations in Chemical, Petrochemical, and Oil & Gas sectors, including Steam Turbines and compressors (1-100 MW).

• Investigate and resolve product issues and performance problems, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Supervise customer and hired personnel during equipment installation, repair, and maintenance.

• Train customer personnel and internal teams.
• Conduct customer visits to check inventories, promote services, and support sales efforts.
• Maintain good customer relations and resolve issues.

• Report work performed, equipment issues, and customer feedback to management.
• Complete detailed service reports, documenting key events and personnel involved.

• Adhere to quality and HSE guidelines.
• Minimize installation backcharges through prompt and effective actions.

• Suggest improvements for product design and service delivery.

• Education:
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years in turbomachinery or process control.
  • Experience with Compressor Antisurge Control systems, Steam Turbine Governor and Overspeed systems, and PLC systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens S7).
• Skills:
  • Proficient in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Adaptable to diverse customer environments and capable of working under pressure.

• Willing to work in various environments, including remote and extreme conditions.
• Strong internal and external communication skills.
• 100% travel requirement, representing the company on-site.
• Independent problem-solving skills, with the ability to advise on operating and maintenance procedures to minimize downtime.
