Job Summary. M/D Totco is a division within NOV that specializes in providing instrumentation, data aggregation, and optimization services to remote sites around the world. Ensuring we have personnel & processes aligned for providing in-depth troubleshooting and technical support for internal and external customers is critical for our business.
The Application Support Specialist will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting both off-the-shelf and proprietary enterprise applications. Candidates must be comfortable working individually as well as with a team on projects in a variety of environments.
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Document, deploy, install, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud based and/or on-premise customer facing applications. Respond to internal & external support requests. Investigate, analyze, and document reported defects. Collaborate with Software QA to ensure comprehensive testing of products before introduction to production environments. Identify and record trends in performance and operation of applications to assist in reducing issues and constraints. Contribute to the creation, documentation, and implementation of test plans, scripts, and test harnesses. Participate in after hours on-call support rotation.
Required Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal skills. Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent from accredited university. Experience administering and maintaining Linux and Microsoft Server operating systems. Competent in writing, debugging, and optimizing stored procedures and queries for Microsoft SQL Server. Experience scripting with PowerShell, VB Script, Bash, or other languages. Working knowledge of hypervisors, virtual environments, and network troubleshooting. 3+ years experience with AWS EC2, S3 buckets, Cloud Watch, and Systems Manager. Configuration and implementation experience with DataDog, Grafana, Zabbix, or other observability platforms.
Travel Requirements:
Occasional international travel may be required to accommodate training and deployment of new projects.
Preferred Skillsets:
Capable of light software development in C#, .Net, Python or other languages. Experience utilizing Docker, Kubernetes and other IoT focused applications. Experience installing, configuring, and supporting OSI-Pi and Postgres databases. Familiarity with Modbus, OPC-UA, and other industrial communication protocols. Experience with Fortinet hardware and remote management applications.
