JOB TITLE: Engineer III - Civil and Structural
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working as a Design Engineer for industrial structures and foundations in oil and gas, refinery, mining, and mineral plants. Responsibilities include the design of buildings, shelters, underground structures, and drainage systems. The candidate is expected to be familiar with civil and structural design for these facilities under the guidance of senior professionals.
- Assist in the preparation of sizing calculations, concrete design analysis, building design analysis, equipment foundation design analysis, steel structure design analysis, dynamic analysis, finite element and numerical analysis, road and drainage design, HVAC requirements, electrical system requirements, fire detection systems, instrument systems, telecom systems, quantity estimations, and other technical requirements and specifications.
- Assist in organizing the preparation of topographic layouts, earthworks/excavation drawings, borehole locations, fencing, paved roads and drainage systems, underground piping and foundations, architectural and conceptual building drawings, control room layouts, substation layouts, machinery shelters, service platforms, pipe racks, pump foundations, vessel and vessel platform foundations, columns, and other civil/structural drawings.
- Participate in the follow-up of subcontractor survey works, review and validate test results, and identify deviations from original work scope requirements. Incorporate subcontractor investigative reports and Client Project Design Data to develop the Civil Design Basis.
- Provide inputs for the preparation of plot plans and organize the issuance of engineering drawings and technical documents for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDCs). Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to integrate data inputs.
- Assist in the preparation of technical inquiry requests (Inquiry Requisitions) to vendors and participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Partake in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) and review vendor drawings and documents. Review design calculations and ensure vendor equipment specifications align with client requirements and budgeted costs.
- Perform related duties as directed by the Direct Supervisor.
- Assist in the preparation of Purchase Requisitions for the procurement of structural items.
- Assist in Material Take-Off (MTO) activities.
- Participate in and present at 3D model reviews, constructability, and installation workshops for assigned projects as required.
- Meet with clients as required.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Exposure in Foundation and Structural design.
- Exposure in analysis and design software like Staad, SAP90 MathCAD.
- Knowledge in MS Excel for calculation.
