Dubai Closing Date: 1st November 2024 Reuters is looking for an exceptional journalist and newsroom leader to run the Middle East and North Africa region. It is one of the most important and high-profile roles in our global news organization. The region’s news operation covers 20 countries, is home to 10 bureaus and a large network of stringers and provides real-time breaking news and deeper investigative coverage on stories that resonate well beyond the Middle East.
It requires an editor who has the news judgment, temperament and management skills to get the best out of talented, diverse and courageous teams of reporters.
You will have experience running large teams, excellent communication skills, impeccable news judgment, and the ability to drive both fast-breaking news and deeply reported projects. You will be a strong writer who can quickly relay the significance of events in the region to a global audience, whether working on financial news or geopolitics.
You will ideally speak Arabic and have the diplomatic skills to represent Reuters in dealing with governments and other authorities in the region
