Deliver a safe and effective transport services
Ensure vehicles are inspected and well maintained as per procedure to ensure safety Transportation of patients, employees, visitors and equipments to locations as per the given timings. Transportation of blood and laboratory specimens to and from clinics and hospitals as required. Ensure that such items are transported in appropriate containers and also as per the infection control policies. Provide back office support / messenger service to various departments in the hospitals and clinics and confidentiality of documents respected at all times. To maintain Receipt / Dispatch log books for important / valuable documents and items Maintain a high degree of personal conduct, cleanliness and appearance. Operate the assigned vehicle in the authorized route and time in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure that vehicles are booked out / booked in before starting / ending of each shift duties. Ensure that number of passengers / load are limited to the legal capacity of the vehicle Ensure that driver and passengers use appropriate safety restraints while the vehicle is in motion Assist in administering basic first aid in case of injury, handle emergency situations including vehicle evacuation procedures. Carry out routine preventive maintenance of vehicles to prevent accidents & breakdowns Reporting need for maintenance & repair works to Transport Supervisor Assist in maintenance of standards of cleanliness and safety within vehicles and on station. Report incidents / accidents and traffic violations to Transport Supervisor in time and complete required forms as per procedure. Ensure that the traffic rules and regulations (regarding exceeding speed limit / parking / jumping red-light / use of mobile phones / keeping safe distance and wearing seat belts as prescribed by UAE Police / RTA and Federal Law) are followed at all times while driving the vehicles.
Complete daily vehicle check list / trip sheet and ensure that the locations and mileage per trip are correctly entered. Coordinate with other drivers of the Transport department to plan vehicle routes while adhering to time schedules to avoid duplication of trips and to avoid the need for U-turns or backing ups. Inform Transport Supervisor about any need for change of routes while out on a trip due to traffic problems Completion of Daily vehicle Check List / trip sheets, route book etc as per Logistics Department policy Patients, employees and hospital equipment are transported according to policy and procedure Emergency transport needs are addressed according to hospital policy and procedure Destinations are reached as specified in vehicle register Relevant documentation (e.g. trip sheets) are complete and accurate Availability is ensured at all times Road Traffic regulations are adhered to Road maps are utilized when required
