Title:Design Manager – StructuralDesign Manager – StructuralLOCATIONAbu Dhabi, UAETHE ROLEReporting directly to the Senior Design Manager, the Design Manager (Structural) will be required to provide input to the senior management on design delivery related matters and be fully responsible for the successful delivery of their assigned services and/or project component, for the duration of the Services. You’ll play an important role in shaping thriving communities by managing the development of residential housing projects and ensuring the quality of new educational facilities. Furthermore, your expertise will be crucial in overseeing the development of mosques and maximizing urban space through infill development projects. In short, this PMC role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on Abu Dhabi's built environment.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESConduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to the teamEnsure the design aligns with client requirements, and is in compliance with current UAE legislation, industry standards and specifications where appropriateManage all aspects of the asset or infrastructure design production process to ensure the overall design is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of program’s strategic objectivesParticipate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to manage the design and its approval, across the project stakeholdersAssist the Senior Design Manager in the preparation of a detailed project plan, as part of the Project Management Plan, for the asset or infrastructure design phases of the programManage the day-to-day structural design monitoring activities and resources and actively participate in the design team meetingsEnsure that all asset or structural design related project KPIs, targets, directions and instructions are communicated to all relevant project stakeholders in a clear and timely mannerCoordination between architecture and engineering teams to ensure integration of structural solutions seamlessly into overall project designsProvide status reporting regarding structural design milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadershipParticipate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholdersAct as an internal quality control check for the structural design documentationEnsure that designs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standardsManage design issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline programExtensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniquesEXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEBSc, Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalentDesign of building projects (villas and community facilities) within a Consulting environment in Abu DhabiMinimum of 10 years overall experienceMinimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar roleMinimum of 5 years working in Middle EastProficiency in Revit AutoCAD RAM Structural System and Microsoft Office SuiteExperience in Risa 2D, Risa 3D, SAP 2000 advantageousExcellent report writing and communication skillsExtensive experience in project managementStructured approach to problem solvingStrong analytical and numerical skillsProven ability to manage complex projectsExceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on client relationshipsAbility to work in a fast-paced multicultural environmentDemonstrated leadership and team management capabilitiesExhibit exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholdersA high standard of spoken and written English, Arabic speaking advantageous.COMPETENCIESLeadershipEnergeticMotivatedInterpersonal and communication skillsAccepts responsibilityPlanning & organisingHSE Awareness
