1 Mission
The Design Manager manages the design programs of all ADPI ’s projects, and ensures all decisions, orders and directions approved by the Managing Director by preparing the necessary design studies, following up architectural modification, coordinating with the contractors, consultants and the concerned official departments in all pending matters.
He/She fully contributes to the vision, policies and public image of the company through his/her performance.
2 Line and Staff Relations
This role will report directly to to Director of Production and Operations.
He/She interacts with:
- All the BU staff
- All the external entities necessary to his/her job execution
3 Key Responsiblities
He/She is fully in charge of:
- Driving the architectural design and overall design studies related to bids or signed projects:
- monitors the respect of the Quality and Project/Clients expectations in terms of architecture and design;
- provides cost information concerning each aspect of the design;
- monitors each design stages in regards to the project milestones;
- Ensuring the design progress to meet the Client expectations;
- Ensures the compliance of each change in the Project’s Design with the final design, and advising the Director of Production and Operations for each change
- reviews the Design Drawings and specification prior the issuance to the client;
- assists and advises engineering reviews;
- provides evaluation and recommendation concerning the sub consultants;
- provides technical comments related to the submission of the contractors;
- provides design clarification, amplification and comments during the construction phase concerning the work of contractors;
- assists the Director of Production and Operations on his request to resolve design and architectural issues on site;
- Running leadership of the Design Team
- leads the Design team, selects the staff and manages the appraisal of their performance with the Director of Production and Operations based on the related Company Modus Operandi.
4 Profile Specifications – Minimum Requirements
As essential requirements:
- Master Degree in Architecture or Engineering
- 15-20 years’ experience in which at least 10 years in a management role
- Excellent knowledge of design project management
- Experience in meeting clients and understanding their demands and expectations
- Knowledge of the local authority standards, regulations and requirements
Regarding the specificity of this function, it should be also required the following personal skills:
- Capability to lead a team and to work within a team framework
- Excellent communication (written and verbal)
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload
- Ability to handle and protect confidential information
- Good decision-making skills
