The role holder is responsible to provide support to the finance team through various accounts reconciliation to generate monthly financial reports and analysis to be coordinated with the auditors for the issuance of audited financial statements for DCM.
Reporting & GL
• Assist in the month-end/quarterly/yearly closing within Finance as well other associated functions with a high level of accuracy.
• Ensure financial modules (AP, AR, FA, Cash management) are closed timely within ERP and accurate data is reported with strict adherence to the agreed month-end close schedule. This includes proactively coordinating with relevant stakeholders (Finance, Procurement & other relevant stakeholders) to explain the revised process/closing deadlines & ensure strict adherence to the same.
• Prepare, review & minimize GL manual Journals and co-ordinate with the IT focal point for system automation. • Assist the team in encoding and request for posting of Journal Entries adjustments and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze reports/schedules/reconciliation including validation of the integrity for financial database, and accuracy of processed transactions for certain key Balance Sheets and P&L balances/accounts to support management statutory reporting.
• Maintain the accounting implications for the various assigned key Balance Sheet and P&L balances/accounts with regards to providing technical guidance following the RERA & IFRS/Local Regulations including best practices as well and interaction with key DH Finance leadership and relevant DCM executives.
• Provide support in implementing tools and mechanisms to deliver various company analysis.
• Maintain a complete log of accounts opened and closed during the period.
• Conduct reconciliation of all relevant sub & general ledger balances, reports, and reconciliation as per defined standards of accounting internal policies to ensure correct balances are reflected.
• Prepare various financial/non-financial statistical reports for the Management to facilitate timely reconciliation of various designated accounts and keep them informed of the status.
Audit, Policies & Procedures
• Maintain a robust control environment and conduct timely and accurate analysis and provide recommendations related to Compliance, Finance Policies and Procedures.
• Support in coordinating with Dubai Holding, subsidiaries, external/internal auditors, other departments/business units and managing the entire audit process efficiently and effectively. This includes cascading agreed timelines, ensuring adherence to deadlines, reviewing the accuracy of financial line items, and completeness of disclosures of the financial reporting packages for the yearly/half-yearly audits. Proactively managing involved teams (both internal/external)
• Coordinate with auditors in planning for OA’s and MC’s audit reports and assist them in completing audits as per the schedule by liaising with other departments and providing them the requisite information. Implementation of action plans for audit findings to ensure that all the audit findings are worked on and successfully dealt with facilitating subsequent audits if required.
Continuous Improvement
• Adopt and research new accounting standards and highlight their application and impact on DPCM financial statements with constructive options to key management.
• Stay abreast of current and new financial technologies, tools and techniques that can be used within DPCM to improve planning, monitoring, reporting and control. • Provide support in system improvement initiatives as and when required.
• Work closely with the section head and assist in ad hoc projects to ensure that the department meets its overall objectives.
• Contribute to the revision and development of DPCM’s accounting policies and procedure’s manual including continuous enhancement/improvement of the Policies and Procedures.
Minimum Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance.
• Professional Certification such as CPA, CFA, CA, ACCA or CMA is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar field and industry.
