Role : Data Analytics and Governance Associate Manage
Location : Abu dhabi
Role Purpose:
Lead and participate in fraud investigations in line with the Fraud Investigations Policy & Procedure, under the directive of the Line Manager and support of Head of Fraud Investigations Department “HoFID”.
The role also covers the data analytics for other investigations performed by FID, whether incident-based or proactive thematic reviews. This role is also responsible for identifying the data required from various sources for a particular use case by working closely with business and technology teams, helps in building proper data pipelines ensuring that right data is available and provides consultation and advice in all data related initiatives
Key Accountabilities of the role
Lead and participate in Fraud Investigations in line with Fraud Investigations Policy & Procedure and ACFE Code of Ethics, to determine the occurrence of fraud, its exposure, root causes, parties involved and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Assist the Line Manager in conducting fraud & misconduct investigations, special/thematic reviews and in building a strong anti-fraud culture within ADIB.
- Coordinate with other stakeholders (HR, Business Line, Legal, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, etc.) to communicate and obtain requisite information to facilitate investigation process.
- Draft investigation findings summarizing the results of fraud investigation work in line with the defined policy and procedure and submit to FID seniors for quality review.
- Responsible for follow-up on investigation corrective action plans implementation by respective action owners.
- Keep informed about improvements and current developments in banking environment’s fraud investigation standards, procedures, and techniques.
- Develop an understanding of data elements and subject areas available in different systems used in the bank to help in future investigation requirements.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, automating manual processes, optimizing analytics delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Identify sources of data for various use cases based on requirements by liaising with respective system support teams.
- Create and maintain optimal data pipelines and data lineage from sources until end consumers through Data Lake.
- Keep data secure and ensure that security is embedded in all the data integration development.
Governance, Data Analytics and Technology:
- Assist Line Manager in maintaining an up-to-date Fraud Investigation Policy & Procedure which guides the investigation process.
- Maintain collaboration with Fraud Risk Management team to ensure a sound Fraud Prevention Culture throughout ADIB, whenever requested/needed.
- Maintain close contact with counterpart colleagues in other financial institutions for intelligence and latest trends.
- Maintain RCSA Control Testing for the FID team, report the results and highlight any corrective actions, as necessary.
- Support the FID team has a seamless access to data, information, records, recordings, etc. required to facilitate the investigation process.
- Support Line Manager in Automating data/information retrieval process and ensure its availability, integrity, confidentiality, and independency.
Quality Assurance and Quality Control/Verifications:
- Support the quality review on the investigation findings draft reports issued by the respective investigators.
- Monitor the team investigation working paper documenting evidence supporting the investigation conclusion and legal process.
- Perform a quality assurance review for the investigations concluded along with the working paper record by respective FID investigators and highlight any exceptions to Line Manager.
- Act as the focal point of contact for FID in relation to quality assurance reviews conducted by Group Internal Audit or External Consultants.
Reporting and Control Monitoring
- Provide periodic reporting of incidents to Senior Management and to Regulatory Bodies, Law Enforcement/ Judicial Authorities as required.
- Support the monitoring of the case investigation closure TAT and escalate any exceptions to Head of Fraud Investigations.
- Highlight any exceptions or delays related to GRC issues and actions.
Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Accounting or Finance from a recognized institution. Certification such as CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CFCI (Certified Financial Crime Investigator) or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Fraud Investigations in financial service industry, extensive knowledge in fraud examination, fraud management, internal controls and risk management processes.
- High degree of analytical, reasoning/judgmental skills. Excellent communication (writing & verbal) skills, good leadership skills, MS Office and system skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge and experience of Business Analysis.
- Preferably Comfortable in big data system and other database systems.
- Comfortable in Management Information/dashboard development (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc)
- Preferably skilled in Python and SQL.
- Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Previous experience:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Fraud Investigations in financial service industry or specialized consulting firms, forensic data collection and knowledge in fraud examination/fraud management.
- Minimum of 4-6 years with a strong investigations and data background.
- Experience working with Big Data tools and building data solutions for advanced analytics.
