Customs Manager

Job Responsibilities:

1. Customs Management: 

   - Oversee the customs clearance operations for Chinese cross-border e-commerce goods in Dubai, ensuring smooth passage of goods according to regulatory procedures. Review and prepare all necessary customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin. Follow up on customs inspections and reviews to ensure timely clearance.

2. Customs Relations Maintenance: 

   - Maintain close contact with local customs authorities and free trade zone departments in Dubai. Build and sustain good working relationships to address complex or unexpected customs issues. Represent the company in communications and coordination with customs, ports, airports, and other relevant departments to resolve any customs obstacles.

3. Team Building and Training: 

   - Assemble and manage the customs operations team. Develop and implement team development plans, provide professional training to enhance operational skills and compliance awareness. Conduct regular team evaluations, guide team members in resolving practical issues, and ensure efficient team performance.

4. Customs Cost Control: 

   - Analyze and optimize customs clearance processes to reduce time and costs, improving operational efficiency. Manage and control expenses related to customs clearance, and provide feasible cost-reduction recommendations.

5. Customer Communication and Service: 

   - Act as a liaison between customers and the company, handling inquiries and issues related to customs clearance, and providing professional solutions. Regularly communicate with customers to ensure their satisfaction with customs services and offer personalized support based on their needs.

6. Data Management and Reporting: 

   - Maintain accurate and complete records and documentation related to customs operations. Regularly report on the progress of customs work to company management, analyze data, and propose improvements.

Qualifications:

1. Experience: 

   - 8-10 years of relevant work experience, with a preference for candidates with a background in customs logistics.

2. Language Skills: 

   - English is the working language, requiring fluent spoken and written communication skills.

3. Operational Experience: 

   - Preference for candidates with experience in Dubai’s free trade zones (JAFZA) or cross-border e-commerce customs operations. Familiarity with Dubai DWC and DXB airport cargo handling processes, and the ability to communicate effectively with cargo stations to resolve issues promptly.

4. Professional Knowledge: 

   - Knowledge of customs approval processes, Mofaic certification, and import license applications with logistics and trade-related authorities (e.g., Dubai Trade Authority, General Administration of Customs, Ministry of Health, Dubai Municipality).

5. Skills: 

   - Proficiency in Word, Excel, PDF, and other office software, with strong data entry and spreadsheet skills.

6. Communication and Management Skills: 

   - Excellent communication skills, strong sense of responsibility, ability to handle work pressure, and superior organizational, coordination, and teamwork abilities.

7. Other Requirements: 

   - Applicants must hold a valid local driving license in Dubai. Nationality is not restricted.
