What You Will Do
This role provides commercial finance support to the customer development and marketing teams and therefore involves influencing and shaping the commercial direction of the business. This role is that of a true business partner; you must have strong stakeholder management skills as well as excellent communication skills. The key accountabilities for this role are the creation of a strong control environment for trade spends across the markets. The role is key in providing financial support for the Customer Development Director and Finance Lead as well as leading the customer teams during quarterly forecasting and annual budget processes.
The role will also require the development of pricing strategy and tiering across our markets and channels, feeding a key pillar in our Revenue Growth Management drive.
The role will require extensive contact with our distributor partners across the region.
Also, this position will also assume lead roles in ad-hoc projects across the business that drive organizational improvements and growth in the region.
Main accountabilities:
- Strong relationship management; act as the key interface between Customer Development and Finance. Develop, and build key business relationships, and utilize influencing skills to engender greater collaboration across respective teams
- Continuously improve the financial management of the relevant work-streams to enhance the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting through the evaluation of key commercial drivers, identification of risks and opportunities, review and oversight of project reporting structures, and presentation of high-quality financial analysis.
- Work alongside business to set appropriate business performance measures aligned to P&L to directly influence financial outcomes.
- Provide regular financial analysis to monitor, assess, and communicate results to executive management.
- Advise Management of the financial impact of sales performance, commercial issues, project outcomes, and new business opportunities through the research, development, and recommendation of appropriate resource allocation and ensure compliance with Corporate Policies.
- Support internal, external and customer audit requirements as necessary.
- Lead Revenue Growth Management (RGM) work within AMET by working with the EMEA RGM team and with the AMET Commercial and Marketing teams
- Provide reporting and commentary on lead customer performance to regional EMEA Commercial Development
- Advise Management of the financial impact of RGM strategies and performance through the research, development, and recommendation of appropriate resource allocation and ensure compliance with Corporate Policies.
- Work with the Shopper Marketing Team on consolidated promotional event forecasting and relevant trade spend allocation to ensure maximum return on investment
- Establish a bottom-up CIW (trade investment) financial build to ascertain accurate market budget thresholds and spend targets for all MENAP countries as well as a future trade promotion management tool
- Develop a robust process to track and measure the trade spend allocation at market and customer level
- Actively review CIW with the Commercial team and distributor contacts to make sure CIW investment is targeted correctly and under control
- Develop a robust process to track and measure the promotional and RGM investments at market and customer level
- Lead the RGM process across AMET markets and deliver on revenue growth targets in pricing, trade investment and assortment
- Drive improvement in promotional efficiency with the Shopper Marketing team through reviews to track performance and providing proposals to drive greater efficiency and supporting the Shopper Marketing team in implementing and maintaining promotional planning tools
QualificationsWhat We Are Looking For
- Relevant business degree at a recognised institution
- 10 years’ experience in an equivalent role, including:
- Experience working with quantitative & qualitative Research
- Experience in new business development
- Proven track record in developing category strategy & putting it into excellence in execution and performance
- Working experience with Innovation projects, acquaintance with innovation tools & methods
- Skilled in Word, Excel and Power Point
- Strong analytical thinking
- Strong written and oral communication skills and presentation skills
