Job Summary:
Overview:We are seeking an experienced
Senior Corporate Lawyer to manage our legal affairs and ensure compliance across international markets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in
contract negotiation, intellectual property management, and international trade regulations, with a strong focus on
Southeast Asia and the Americas. This is an execution-level role, directly supporting the company’s commercial operations and collaborating closely with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities1. Contract Negotiation and Management- Draft, review, and negotiate distribution agreements and other commercial contracts.
- Ensure compliance with local and international laws, particularly in Southeast Asia and the Americas.
- Manage the lifecycle of contracts, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
2. International Trade and Regulatory Compliance- Advise on legal issues related to customs, international trade, and regulatory frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with global trade regulations and mitigate risks in international markets.
- Monitor legislative changes that may impact the company’s operations.
3. Intellectual Property Management- Protect and enforce the company’s intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Draft and negotiate licensing agreements and manage IP-related disputes.
4. Risk Management and Dispute Resolution- Lead legal efforts in resolving contract disputes and intellectual property conflicts.
- Represent the company in negotiations and oversee litigation processes in collaboration with external counsel.
5. Collaboration with Business Teams- Work closely with sales, marketing, product development, and senior management to align legal strategies with business goals.
- Provide practical and actionable legal advice to support business operations.
Qualifications and Skills- Education: JD or Master’s degree in Law from an accredited institution.
- Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in corporate law, with a focus on contracts, intellectual property, and international trade.
- Execution-level expertise (not managerial).
- Proven experience in the commercial sector, preferably in distribution or the mobile/consumer electronics industry.
- Strong knowledge of international markets, especially in Southeast Asia and the Americas.
- Skills:
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Deep understanding of civil law, customs law, and international trade regulations.
- Exceptional communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Advantage: Experience with legal issues in the mobile phone or consumer electronics industries is highly desirable.
