Content Creator/Media Designer | Office of Student Affairs

The Office of Student Affairs at the American University of Sharjah is seeking a talented and innovative Social Media Designer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and engaging content for our social media platforms, aimed at enhancing student engagement, promoting events and initiatives and fostering a sense of community among our diverse student body.

Job Responsibilities    

• Design compelling graphics, animations, videos, and other multimedia content for the Office of Student Affairs' social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok.
• Collaborate closely with the communications team to develop and implement social media campaigns that align with the goals and objectives of the Office of Student Affairs.
• Create visually cohesive and on-brand content that reflects the unique culture and identity of the American University of Sharjah.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in social media design and incorporate innovative ideas to keep our content fresh and engaging.
• Work closely with student organizations, clubs, and committees to support their social media efforts and promote their events and activities.
• Monitor social media channels for feedback, comments and engagement, and respond in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with photographers, videographers, and other content creators to produce high-quality visual content for social media.
• Stay informed about campus events, activities, and initiatives to ensure accurate and timely promotion on social media platforms.
• Assist with other communications and marketing projects as needed.

Qualifications and Skills Required    

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Multimedia, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a social media designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and creativity.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.) and other relevant design tools.
• Excellent understanding of social media platforms, their audiences, and their respective content requirements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with photography, videography, and video editing is preferred.
