Diagnose, treat, and manage sports-related injuries, including musculoskeletal injuries, joint and soft tissue injuries, fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, and overuse injuries. Conduct comprehensive assessments of athletes, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, MRI, ultrasound, and functional movement assessments). Develop and implement individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans for athletes, including non-surgical interventions, physical therapy, and injury prevention strategies. Manage conservative treatment options such as rest, ice, compression, elevation (R.I.C.E.), physiotherapy, and medications to alleviate pain and promote healing. Collaborate with physiotherapists, orthopedic surgeons, nutritionists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Provide guidance and support to athletes on injury prevention, performance optimization, and rehabilitation. Advise on safe return-to-sport protocols and help athletes regain strength, flexibility, and endurance after an injury. Conduct pre-participation physical exams to assess an athlete's fitness for specific sports and identify potential injury risks. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in sports medicine, including new treatments, technologies, and rehabilitation techniques. Participate in sports medicine-related research, clinical trials, or academic activities, if applicable. Maintain accurate medical records for all patients and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws.
