The Professor/Instructor provides an enriching learning environment for students by using holistic and career-oriented teaching methods. By maintaining an organized and structured classroom environment, the Instructor helps ensure that students are progressing effectively. The administration of assignments, tests, projects and exams will help students stay engaged and provide the Instructor with an accurate gauge of student success. Previous teaching experience is required.
Responsibilities:
· Plan and deliver comprehensive lessons that cater to the needs and proficiency levels of students. Deliver curriculum and prepare teaching materials.
· Ability to plan, prepare course content and develop curriculum (course outlines, teaching plans, presentations, etc.)
· Connect with local industries and communities for the related field of teaching. Maintain and expand relationships for the training institution and its students.
· Recruit and consult with potential students.
· Implement and manage institution policies and procedures such as attendance, grade reports, midterm reports, student advising forms, and all other assigned educational materials on a timely basis.
· Evaluate student performance according to institution policies and procedures. Timely completion and submission of all grade books and marking of all tests, examinations and assignments.
· Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
· Coordinate and collaborate with other professionals to refine program content and provide lessons in professional responsibility.
· Participate in faculty/staff meetings, committee meetings, professional development workshops, graduation ceremonies, and other school functions as requested.
· Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized University or College in Hotel Management, Business Administration, Tourism Management or other relevant discipline.
· 10+ years related experience within the field.
· Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
· Previous experience teaching courses at the college or university level is preferred.
· Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level.
· Strong network of contacts with other professionals, organizations and employers.
· Two years or more of teaching experience preferred.
· Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
· Demonstrable ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students.
· High standards of behaviour, a professional attitude and commitment to quality service.
· Flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching.
