Job Description

We are currently seeking four skilled Cold Cutting Operators to join our team. The Cold Cutting Operators will be responsible for operating cold cutting equipment and tools to perform precision cutting operations in rig jobs. This role requires extensive experience in cold cutting, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.


Responsibilities:


  • Operate cold cutting machines and tools to cut metal components, pipes, and structures in rig environments.
  • Conduct cold cutting operations according to specified measurements, drawings, and work orders.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of cuts, making adjustments to equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on cold cutting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of cutting tools and materials.
  • Collaborate with rig crews and project teams to plan and execute cutting operations efficiently and safely.
  • Document work activities, including equipment settings, materials used, and any issues encountered during operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following housekeeping and safety procedures.

Qualifications

Experience:


  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Cold Cutting Operator in rig jobs or similar industrial environments.
  • Welding experience and certifications are advantageous.
  • Mechanical diploma or experience in lathe machine operations is required.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining cold cutting equipment and tools.
  • Strong understanding of rig operations, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work orders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in various environments, including offshore and remote locations, and to adhere to rotational schedules if required.

Physical demands and work environment:


  • Ability to walk on uneven ground (gravel, rocks, mounds, ice)
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and/or ramps while carrying tools requiring a reasonable degree of physical stamina and agility and involving moderate to severe physical exertion
  • Ability to comprehend, remember, and follow verbal and written directions and comply with Company policies, procedures and standard.
