We will count on you to:
Manage member/client escalations related to claims submitted through the insurer portal, ensuring timely resolution of simple, moderate, and complex cases. Review claims settlements, follow up on delayed claims, and advocate for valid claims that have been denied or suspended. Ensure efficient handling of Life and Disability claims from receipt of information to resolution notification, while communicating effectively with clients and relevant parties. Investigate and respond to member/client complaints, providing detailed explanations and setting clear expectations to prevent future issues. Maintain strong relationships with insurers and third-party administrators, coordinating meetings to discuss open cases and address recurring issues.
What you need to have:
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Claims Advisor, preferably 5 years of experience. A bachelor’s degree in medicine or a related medical field is a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in computer skills in Microsoft office (Excel) and strong time management abilities. Proven complaint resolution skills and knowledge of market developments and regulatory updates. Familiarity with various insurers' claims processes and adjudication criteria.
What makes you stand out:
Experience in managing sensitive ongoing conditions such as cancer, high-cost claims, or rare disorders. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to guide clients through the complaint’s procedure. Knowledge of DHA and DOH mandates, treatment guidelines, and compliance protocols. Ability to maintain accurate records and track claims effectively for performance reporting. A proactive approach to building trust and maintaining effective working relationships with clients and insurers.
