Chief Technology Officer (Crypto industry experience required)

Hiring for a large crypto-currency company in Abu Dhabi.

We seek an experienced and innovative Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with extensive knowledge and expertise in the cryptocurrency industry. The successful candidate will lead our technology strategy, oversee our engineering teams, and ensure that our technology infrastructure supports our growth ambitions and reinforces our position at the vanguard of the digital currency revolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and articulate a clear technological vision that aligns with the company's business goals and places us at the cutting edge of cryptocurrency innovation.
  
• Lead the technology department, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation, and overseeing the work of software development, blockchain engineering, IT, and cybersecurity teams.
  
• Drive the company's product development efforts by working closely with the product management, marketing, and sales teams to align the technological capabilities with market and customer needs. Also, oversee research and development initiatives to explore new technologies, systems, or enhancements that can provide competitive advantages or efficiencies.
  
• Ensure our technology infrastructure is scalable, secure, and efficient, providing stable and reliable platforms for our users and protecting our assets and data from cyber threats.
  
• Develop and manage the technology budget, optimize resource allocation, and ensure cost-effectively in technology investments.
  
• Establish robust IT policies and procedures that comply with industry regulation and best practices, particularly concerning security, data privacy, and AML (anti-money laundering) requirements.
  
• Remain up to date with emerging trends in blockchain technologies, cryptocurrencies, decentralized finance (DeFi), and overall fintech innovation.
  
• Maintain a culture of continuous learning within the technology team, ensuring that skills and knowledge are current and that staff members are motivated and engaged.
  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, supplemented by business education (MBA - desirable).
  
• Minimum 15+ years of experience, with atleast 4+ years of experience in the related field.
  
• Significant leadership experience in a technology role within the cryptocurrency space or related fintech areas, with demonstrated success in scaling technology teams and infrastructure.
  
• In-depth understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency regulations, security protocols, and an overall appetite for technological innovation.
  
• Evidence of transformative leadership in managing software development, IT infrastructure, and security operations.
  
• Strong strategic thinking and business planning skills, with the ability to translate complex technological concepts into actionable business strategies.
  
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  

Desirable Experience:

• Experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or in another senior technology leadership role in a company known for its technological leadership and innovation.
  
• A proven track record of successfully launching new products, services, or improvements in the cryptocurrency or blockchain industry.
  
• Active engagement with the tech community as a thought leader or contributor to open-source projects.
