Undertake planning, coordination and implementation of all matters relating to Freighter operation in SkyCargo. This includes all aspects of short, medium and long term scheduling (including the seasonal Operating Plans), charter operations, ensuring both operational and commercial integrity is maintained while meeting all safety, quality and customer service standards. Ensure that all activities take place in an effective and efficient manner so as to ensure all services are adequately covered especially at times of schedule disruptions, schedule adjustments, additional operations and new route introductions. Undertake the management of other aspects of Freighter Department including managing Blocked Space with other airlines, invoicing and accounting as well as Freighter related NGSC issues. Job Outline
SCHEDULE PLANNING
Prepare seasonal freighter schedules in a timely manner ensuring all commercial and operational requirements are met. Ensure all permissions and permits are obtained from government and other agencies for the smooth operation of scheduled freighter services and for incorporation and publication in the quarterly airline time table so that the freighter network information is available to customers.
Provide support to the Cargo Scheduling & Planning Manager in slot co-ordination activity especially from an operational perspective when additional charter flights are operated or obtaining specific slots during schedule disruptions so as to be able maintain the required performance level on slot utilisation such that slot historic are protected.
Monitor the schedules of all the freighters and charter flights ensuring its effectiveness and efficiency so that all services are adequately covered especially at times of schedule disruptions, adjustments to schedules and additional operations.
OPERATIONS PLANNING:
Co-ordinate monthly freighter schedules with the wet lease aircraft operator?s (Atlas Air, TNT and others) ensuring that the operator is provided monthly schedules in a timely manner and that the operator is able to fulfil Emirates schedules. This also requires checking back with the operator to ensure that the operator?s planning information reflect Emirates requirements.
Co-ordinate monthly freighter schedules with other Emirates operational departments ensuring that they are provided in a timely manner and that Emirates is capable of fulfilling them. When special charter flights are operated, the job holder is required to travel to outstations, especially off-line stations and/or stations that do not have freighter expertise, to ensure all operational activity in relation to the charter is performed according to company standards and customer's satisfaction.
DEVELOPMENT & ANALYSIS:
Manage all other carrier (OAL) block space agreements ensuring that agreements are current and where renewal is due initiate renewal negotiations.
Ensure block space utilisation is monitored and take appropriate action where utilisation levels are vary from agreed levels informing internal departments and negotiating with the other carriers accordingly.
Manage the payments and accounts processing of OAL block space agreements ensuring that other Emirates financial departments are supplied with correct information concerning invoicing and payments.
Assist in the negotiate with carriers with block space agreements for the optimal cancellations in accordance with agreed cancellation allowances, so as to ensure Emirates commercial objectives are not compromised. Communicate information on cancellations to internal and external parties in a timely manner.
Undertake planning, operations within the Freighter department, with regard to medium and long term freighter and charter operations ensuring operational integrity is maintained while meeting all safety, quality and customer service standards.
Identify requirements that need to be incorporated into the New Generation Cargo System (NGSC) on an ongoing basis for the effective and efficient management of all freighter and charter related activity prioritising the necessary requirements and emphasising the specific requirements. Once changes have been made liaise with relevant internal departments in the testing of the system to ensure operational integrity.
Ascertain and collate all cost data related to freighter and charter operations ensuring that accurate data is captured in the NGSC system. Determine the accurate computation of all cost data related to freighter/charter operations within the system and identify and correct any anomalies.
Provide information on the profitability of all ad-hoc freighter operations, charter operations and diversions ensuring that information related to such operations are communicated to all relevant internal departments. Ensure timely communication of revenue/cost information for incorporation in weekly management reports.
Independently handle special projects as directed by Manager Freighter Operations & Charters, Manager Freighter Analysis & Development or Cargo Scheduling & Planning Manager. The job holder will also be required to undertake special projects related to special ground handling requirements and operational procedures related to new aircraft especially the Boeing 777F and Boeing 747-8F.
