Job Title: Career Development Specialist


Role Purpose:


Contribute in designing development and assessment centers and running specialized programs for key and high potential employees. Participate in identifying and confirming talents across entire DCT’s and find suitable challenges and opportunities for the high potential employees.


Key Responsibilities:


Career Development Operations:


  • Participate in developing a set of integrated diagnostic and assessment tools and processes including psychometric tools, assessment and development center to support the assessment and calibration of identified talent.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the methodology for the assessment and development centers.
  • Prepare career development initiatives within the sectors/departments of DCT to ensure awareness of such programs for successful participation from the employees.
  • Participate in providing career counseling to employees by helping them explore different career options based on their interests and skills.
  • Participate in conducting job analyses for existing positions to identify skills needed for new positions or current positions that may be eliminated due to restructuring or other factors.
  • Contribute in designing career paths for all unique roles across sectors of DCT to help employees chart their career plans and aid their development.
  • Coordinate with the external vendors and design tailor made programs for the development of high potential.
  • Discuss career opportunities and propose newly created challenging vacancies with high potential on a regular basis.
  • Develop different development programs for specific groups of employees and talents.
  • Participate in managing strategic organization wide projects focused on the development of high potential and young leaders for DCT sectors.
  • Obtain regular feedback from program participants, mentors and coaches. Build the network of internal and external coaches and mentors regularly.

  • Carry out any other duties and responsibilities related to the role at the request of the direct manager
  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Demonstrate compliance to organization’s values and ethics at all times to support the establishment of a value drive culture within the organization.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Qualifications :


  • Bachelor’s degree (Master Preferred) in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology or any other degree within relevant industry.
  • Professional certification in human resources is preferred. 

Experience:


  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Career/ Talent development or any other experience within similar role or industry

Skills:


  • Language:  
    • Full professional English proficiency both in speaking and writing. 
    • Arabic bilingual desirable but not mandatory.  
  • Skilled in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
  • Knowledge and functional understanding of the tourism industry, regionally and globally.
  • High level of competency in relevant software applications.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to quickly integrate with existing business software tools and knowledge of other relevant industry software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - including appropriate stakeholder alignment.
  • Evidence of creating, implementing, and managing policies and procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task and to prioritize work effectively.
  • Ability to work under own direction and high degree of initiative.
  • Knowledge in HR talent development leading practices.
  • knowledge and understanding of career/ talent development techniques.
