About the role
The Junior Sous Chef plans, organizes, controls and directs the work of employees in the Butcher & Still Kitchen Department responsible for food preparation while ensuring superior quality and consistency.
What you will do
Main Duties/Description:
1. Ensure the quality and quantity of all Meat, Poultry, Game, and small goods, fish and shellfish products, recipe cards and photographs and given instructions as per the standards and procedures. Inspect all meat, seafood, and poultry according to established specifications and standards and perform yield testing.
2. Ensure good knowledge of cuisines, to carry out the duties and responsibilities for the position in an efficient and productive manner.
3. Prepare, cut, portion food for all outlet kitchens efficiently and economically
4. Operate, maintain and properly clean kitchen equipment.
5. Date all food containers and rotate as per policies.
6. Assist the Restaurant Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and to maintain a high Standard of product; work closely with all chefs in relation to the food.
What you bring
• A minimum of at least 2 to 3 years of experience in the similar role in a luxury brand
• An outgoing personality and a can-do approach to an assigned task
• High level of understanding and knowledge of food and/or wine
• Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing)
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
