Job Description
As Assistant Principal to support the vision, core values, mission, aims and policies of the school. To support and develop the effective leadership and management of the school whilst ensuring the highest possible standards of teaching, learning, curriculum, student achievement and pastoral care.
Play an active role in school strategic planning and school self review
Be responsible for leading, developing and managing teaching and learning, target-setting, assessment, tracking, recording and reporting.
To take a significant lead in developing the assessment framework across the secondary school in conjunction with senior and middle leaders and all teaching staff.
To lead, alongside members of the senior leadership team, target-setting, assessment and tracking data.
To have accountability for the standards of attainment, progress, achievement and behaviour, to monitor and evaluate the progress made in these areas and determine further actions for improvement.
To have an excellent working knowledge and understanding of the KHDA/DSIB UAE Inspection Framework and Supplement, UAE Vision 2021 and National Agenda and use these to support leadership and management.
Skills
Qualified Teacher Status Accredited educational leadership qualification such as NPQSL or NPQH. Commitment to promote and support the vision, values and ethos of the School. Evidence of significant and continued professional development. Evidence of innovation leading to raised standards and improved student and staff motivation. Knowledge and understanding of competency-led curriculum frameworks. Knowledge and understanding of what constitutes high quality educational provision and how to secure it within the school. Evidence of successful delivery against targets. Possess drive, enthusiasm, determination and boundless energy to improve the life chances and experiences of students. Maintain a sense of humour and proportion whilst working under pressure. Display a genuine love of learning and care for students. Exceptional organizational and analytical skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to inspire and guide staff. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Commitment to fostering a culture of high academic expectations and student success.
