Manage the effective achievement of the assigned sectional objectives through the leadership of the Procurement Unit – setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, providing formal and informal feedback and appraisal.
Enhance core efficiencies and competencies, and leverage technologies to maximize performance and widen the scope of the procurement services.
Procurement & Sourcing
Monitor the organization procurement cycle from identifying requirements through to receiving materials and services.
Perform strategic sourcing and spend analyses and identify key procurement savings opportunities
Manage the development and execution of innovative sourcing to meet the present and future materials requirements of the organization.
Conduct efficient and collaborative procurements, which are compliant with policies and procedures
Ensure planning and execution of optimal delivery method, route and budget.
Collect and share supplier qualification and performance information from/ with respective business units across the organization.
Prepare timely and accurate management information covering aspects of stakeholder engagement in the procurement process lifecycle.
Supervise the procurement in sourcing, transactional purchasing and miscellaneous internal procurement support activities
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
Ensure continuous improvement to procurement policy and procedures and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of procurement activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to the end-user.
Reporting
Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet GCAA requirements and quality standards.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
A university degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement function, or a Masters’ degree with 3 years’ or as defined in JD Matrix.
Knowledge in procurement practices and activities.
