Position Summary:
The NDT Advanced Specialist at Gecko Robotics plays a pivotal role in industrial inspections, ensuring the integrity and reliability of critical infrastructure. This position involves operating state-of-the-art robotic inspection equipment in various industrial environments, such as power plants, oil and gas refineries, and paper mills. The NDT Advanced Specialist ensures that customer needs are met with the highest quality of service, whether in the field performing inspections, troubleshooting and maintaining robotic systems, or assisting with the development of procedures and training newer technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow all safety policies in both field and shop environments, identifying potential hazards and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Oversee and operate robotic inspection equipment, ensuring the quality and accuracy of data collected in industrial settings. Communicate effectively with customers to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Actively solicit and relay feedback for service improvement. Complete various field reports, including expense reports, time sheets, and documentation for all activities, ensuring proper record-keeping and data integrity. Contribute to the training process for NDT professionals, sharing expertise and assisting with the onboarding and mentorship of new technicians. Stay up-to-date with the latest tools, service offerings, and technologies related to robotic inspections and NDT. Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements, including background checks and drug screening.
Requirements:
Must possess a Level II certification in PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing). Ability to operate in various industrial environments, including machine shops, confined spaces, at heights, and under diverse weather conditions. Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including extended fieldwork in potentially strenuous conditions. Ability to travel, including potentially 90-day rotations in the UAE. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a passion for representing Gecko Robotics to clients with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Level II certification in PAUT required. Additional certifications such as API QUTE, API QUPA, ISQ UTSW, or ISQ PAUT are highly preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in PAUT, with strong expertise in operating AUT crawlers and other robotic inspection tools. Experience in a lead technician role, with a proven ability to manage and mentor teams. Experience with RBI (Risk-Based Inspection) is preferred but not required. Strong reporting and documentation skills, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping for all inspections and activities.
