The Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the organization’s financial health by ensuring precise record-keeping, accurate reporting, and compliance with local and international accounting standards. This role demands strong technical skills, analytical capabilities, and a detail-oriented approach to maintaining financial integrity.Key Responsibilities1. Bookkeeping and General Ledger Management Maintain and update accurate records of all financial transactions. Ensure all journal entries comply with accounting principles and company policies. Regularly review and reconcile the general ledger to maintain data accuracy. 2. Accounts Payable Process, verify, and reconcile vendor invoices. Manage payment schedules to ensure timely disbursements. Maintain records of supplier agreements and manage disputes or discrepancies. 3. Accounts Receivable Generate and issue invoices to clients. Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collections. Manage customer accounts and resolve payment-related issues. 4. Financial Reporting Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis and reporting. 5. Bank and Cash Reconciliation Reconcile bank statements with financial records on a regular basis. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly. 6. Tax Compliance and Regulatory Reporting Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., VAT) in compliance with local tax laws and regulations. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and implement necessary adjustments in accounting practices. 7. Budgeting and Forecasting Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor budgetary performance and highlight deviations to management. 8. Audit Support Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing accurate documentation and explanations. Address audit findings and implement recommendations to strengthen internal controls.
