WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
As a Communications Manager you will be part of CSM’s Middle East team, contributing to the strategic development and executional delivery of a variety of communications, event marketing activities and brand activations, with a focus on film/video ideation and production, talent and ambassador management, media relations, social media management, copy writing, media hosting, internal comms and third-party agency, supplier and Rights Holder management.
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the comms and content production workstreams on your account, building solid relationships with clients, mentoring juniors and supporting the senior team. You will report into a Project Lead with support from a Communications Director. You will be part of our Brand team based in CSM’s UAE offices (Abu Dhabi and Dubai) with international travel required around major sporting events, activations and client meetings. You will be providing Content & Communications services exclusively for a global investment firm based in Riyadh, Saudia Arabia across its portfolio of global sports partnerships in men’s and women’s professional tennis, electric motorsport, golf and football.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Planning + Strategy
• Ideating, presenting and delivering annual Content + Communications plans to support an integrated activation strategy across the client’s entire sports partnership portfolio.
• Setting campaign KPIs, and overseeing measurement and evaluation / reporting
• Attending weekly client, all agency, rights holder and internal account meetings
Content + Social
• Ideating and pitching creative concepts for digital, social and broadcast content that tells the client’s business story through the lens of its sports partnership platforms
• Briefing and managing production agencies to realise your concepts across the campaign, including the production of hero brand films, short form event sizzles as well as ambassador and spokesperson testimonials
• Managing photographers and videographers on the ground at events and major shoots to deliver world class assets
• Creating written editorial and social collateral and assets including features, op-eds, media briefings and short form content copy
• Working with CSM’s design studio to brief and produce static visual content; social media templates, event branding, campaign key visuals and applications
• Attending international sports events to support local market client teams with media hosting, content creation and media relations.
PR
• Overseeing the delivery of a major media events internationally, in partnership with the Rights Holder
• Undertaking client and ambassador briefings ahead of media engagements and content capture sessions
• Drafting of PR materials to include messaging houses, Q+As, fact sheets and briefing documents
• Management of media activity including photocalls, press conferences and media pitching
• Building strong relationships with strategic media contacts
• Managing paid media partnerships
• Briefing and supporting third party ‘corporate’ PR agency specialists
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED
• A clear passion for sports; an understanding of motorsport, football, golf and tennis
• 7+ years’ experience in PR / Marketing / Digital Agency landscape
• Highly creative, with an understanding of the video production process from storyboarding to post production
• Strong experience in account / project management
• Ability and confidence to guide and counsel clients
• Significant client-facing experience within regional public / private sector
• Proven team management, development and leadership skills
• Proven ability to prioritise and delegate
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Outstanding written and oral communications skills
• Fluent in business English
• Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word
• Ability to build and manage budgets
• Proven track record of working with photographers and production companies and an understanding of the creative process for visual content creation
• Strong contacts across sport & lifestyle media, with a sound understanding of the regional landscape
• Solution-focused and hands on approach to communications, using a range of marketing skills including media relations, press release and video content creation, talent handling and event organisation and management
