The Work:


Accenture Trading, Investments & Optimization Strategy (ATIOS) is a growing team within Accenture that works globally to help our clients on commodity risk management, trading, investment advisory, commercial, value chain and portfolio optimization strategies and enable the C-Suite to cope with increased responsibilities from shifting macroeconomic trends and volatility in commodity markets. We work with diverse clients across commodity value chains for industries ranging from energy to soft commodities to capital markets.


  • Develop and execute strategies to address the challenges facing the client, especially in Energy sector and Oil & Gas domain, including impact of competition, regulations, macro-economics, commodity markets, energy transition, and technological advancements.


  • Manage project and client teams to solve complex business issues in at least one of our three core capability areas, including:


  • Trading:


    • Help commodity trading teams set up and expand their trading and risk management activities across energy markets and other commodity value chains.


    • Advise clients on the top priorities of their asset portfolios and revamp their value chains based on market and industry conditions.


    • Lead analysis of clients’ businesses and advise them on how they can grow their product margin, boost supply certainty, and reduce price/volumetric volatility.


  • Investment:


    • Support clients in their inorganic growth agenda across the investment deal lifecycle, including inorganic growth strategy, business development capability set-up, partner / target screening, synergy assessment, due diligence, post-merger integration, portfolio interventions.


    • Lead project teams to shape clients’ investment/divestment transactions, and help create innovative, agile business models that help clients pivot to the New


    • Develop business cases for strategic initiatives and evaluate the financial feasibility and potential benefits. Develop frameworks and methodologies to track and measure the value realization of implemented strategies.


    • Develop integrated strategies that leverage data science to drive decision-making in investment, trading, and other deeply quantitative domains, aligning with our clients’ business objectives.


  • Optimization:


    • Partner with CEOs to architect future proof operating models embracing future of work, workforce and workplace powered by transformational technology, ecosystems and analytics.


    • Design digital strategy initiatives and assist in implementing digital strategy initiatives, including intelligent operations strategies, utilizing advanced analytics, automation


    • Identify strategic cost take-out opportunities and drive business transformation.


    • Provide energy consulting to help clients to navigate the energy transition through development of clean energy strategies and plans, new, cutting-edge business models, advising on sustainability strategies and developing market outlooks.


    • Identify opportunities to reduce carbon footprint, increase energy efficiency, and promote environmentally responsible practices.


  • Strengthen relationships with clients to sustain Accenture’s profile as a long-term trusted advisor and partner.


  • Lead and conduct client interviews and workshops, develop presentation materials and engage in client conversations, articulating approach and recommendations.


  • Mentor and grow a team of strategy consultants and analysts, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.


  • Travel: as needed, up to 100%

Here’s What You Need:


  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the consulting industry or equivalent in an internal corporate strategy / consulting role, preferably in energy industry.


  • A Bachelor’s degree.


Bonus Points if:


  • You have an MBA or equivalent graduate degree.


  • You know how global markets work, you have a grasp of commodity trends.


  • You’re familiar with recognized strategy frameworks and techniques.


  • You’re no stranger to business case development, financial analysis, and financial statements.


  • You have proven work experience that covers one or more of the following functions: research and data engineering, data analytics, statistical modelling, machine learning, and/or AI / GenAI.


  • You’ve been exposed to one or more of the following industries: energy, chemicals, soft commodities, agriculture, metals, mining, utilities, transportation, consumer goods, or capital markets.


  • You have good quantitative skills, with Excel/VBA as a minimum and other modelling packages


  • You’re a natural at leading or contributing to teams and delivering complex strategy or consulting engagements.


  • You have energy and drive in abundance, along with personal resilience, a passion for serving clients, and a love of continual learning.


  • You’re rich in Communication and people skills, and you’re ready to hit the ground running in a team setting where you’re a natural at appreciating diverse perspectives and bringing out the best in people.
