Program Summary

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.

Job Summary

A janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of the institution, warehouses, and production facilities. The duties typically include sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors, cleaning windows, sanitizing restrooms, and disposing of waste. They may also handle outdoor maintenance tasks like lawn care and snow removal. Industrial janitors must follow safety protocols and may be required to operate cleaning machinery and perform minor repairs. This role requires individuals who are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Maintains and updates the cleaning checklists and logs during the shift.
• Ensures that the facility and cleaning supply closets are locked and secured.
• Reports any major maintenance and cleanliness requirements to customer.
• Maintains all safety standards.
• Work uncommon/flexible duty hours (shifts, weekends and holidays).
• Clean and sanitize surfaces, floors, and equipment using appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Collect and dispose of waste in designated containers.
• Operate cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers.
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the maintenance team.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including the handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain cleanliness in employee breakrooms and restrooms.
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects as assigned.
• Stock and maintain supply rooms with necessary cleaning supplies in an organized manner.
• Adjust and minor repairs to cleaning equipment if necessary.
• Physical ability to handle janitorial tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Capability to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Must have Turkish citizenship
• Military obligation must be completed.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills for following instructions and understanding safety protocols.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and operation of cleaning equipment.
• Familiarity with basic maintenance tasks and building repairs.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Can speak English sufficiently enough to converse with the customer.
• Have three years of general housekeeping experience.
• On-the-job training is often provided, but prior experience can be beneficial.
