KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.


Job Summary


To serve as a Fire Station Chief assigned to lead a shift assigned to a firefighting of significant complex emergencies, shall be engaged in leading multiple crews in airfield, structural firefighting, crash-rescue, and Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Operations and assist in reducing and/or eliminating potential fire hazards and reacting to the presence or potential releases of hazardous materials as a first responder to protect persons, property, or the environment.


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Direct operations at fire scenes and other emergency situations
  • Be able to interpret applicable fire protection technical publications and fire codes, prepare fire reports and general correspondence concerning fire protection.
  • Develops and maintains a variety of documentation.
  • Complies with health, safety, environmental rules and procedures, including host nation and USAF environmental regulations, OSHA regulations, UASF safety directives, and NFPA standards.
  • Oversees and/or directs assigned crew in the performance of crash/rescue and firefighting duties at airfields handling complex (e.g., bombers, cargo, and passenger) aircraft; the performance of structural firefighting duties for a variety of facilities which may include research and/or large industrial complexes; and the performance of hazardous material (HAZMAT) containment and control and/or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) duties.
  • Shall be responsible for the management and supervision of the Fire Protection Operations Section in accordance with AFI 32-2001 and USAFE Supplements.
  • Performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
  • Employee must participate in a mandatory physical fitness program.
  • Employee is required to use all safety equipment and clothing provided by management & to enforce wear of PPE in their charge, including a uniform and/or protective clothing weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • This position requires the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions and falls under the respiratory protection program and hearing conservation program
  • The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. 
  • Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
  • Maintain current CPR & Emergency Medical Responder certification.
  • The work is performed in various settings, such as office buildings, warehouses, industrial buildings, or construction sites.  In some areas, the employee may be required to wear protective clothing, such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.  The work may involve moderate risks requiring the exercise of safety precautions when working around fuel transfer operations, construction sites, hospitals, airfields, etc.
  • Heavy physical effort is required in the frequent handling of objects such as support equipment weighing 50 lbs. or more; may be required to lift/carry personnel such as an adult male (weighing 200 lbs.) in emergency situations. Duties require full use of both arms, both legs and fingers to bend, turn, pull, crawl, kneel, and climb for such tasks as use of aerial ladders, firefighting equipment controls, arranging/connecting hoses, rappelling, operation of fire truck and all types of rescue operations, etc.
  • Performs work under extremely adverse conditions, including working in conditions immediately dangerous to life and health which generates temperature extremes and dirty environments.
  • An annual physical will be conducted and a physical agility test.

Basic Qualifications


  • Turkish Citizenship
  • Capable to speak, read, write, and understand English language “Minimum Level III”
  • High School Diploma
  • Have a current driver’s license (minimum “C” Class)
  • Must have the following DOD, Pro-Board, or ISAC certifications in accordance

with DoDI 6055.06-M:


  • Firefighter I & II
  • Airport Firefighter
  • Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Awareness & Operations
  • Apparatus Driver Operator – Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting
  • Apparatus Driver Operator – Pumper
  • Apparatus Driver Operator – Mobile Water Supply
  • Apparatus Driver Operator – Aerial
  • Fire Officer I & II
  • Fire Instructor I & II
  • Fire Inspector I & II
  • Telecommunicator I & II
  • Incident Safety Officer
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
  • Munitions Fire Fighting course
  • Shall have a minimum of 10 years firefighting experience in an organized fire protection function that provides fire suppression services.  At least 5 of the 10 years shall have been in an organization that provides aircraft crash, fire, and rescue services. 
  • Shall have a working knowledge of fire suppression, rescue and emergency incident techniques, operation of fire equipment, water distribution and supply requirements. 
  • Shall have a working knowledge of the characteristics of aircraft fuel propellants, oxidizers, and weapons
  • Specialized experience must include knowledge of hazardous materials emergency response procedures, equipment, and identification. 
  • Knowledge to drive and operate firefighting vehicles of significant complexity; of the principled of hydraulics and how they pertain to water flow, water pressure, water levels, line (friction) losses, etc.; and of basic and specialized airfield and structural firefighting equipment (fire alarm system operation, fire extinguishing equipment operation, etc.).  techniques, and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of the latest changes in aircraft cockpit design, ordnance placement, and cabin layout to include the operation of hatch or canopy mechanisms, ejection seat mechanisms, and/or oxygen supply systems.  Experience may have been gained in the private sector, volunteer service, military service, and/or government service, etc

Preferred Qualifications


  • Health and Safety Officer

All positions require the applicant to obtain and pass a medical physical that is certified by a doctor.


All positions require a current and favorable Turkish Security background check.


All male candidates must have completed their military service.
