The Position 
As the Sustainability and Communication Manager, you will act as a partner and trusted advisor to the Director of Corporate Affairs supporting them with internal & external communication planning and implementation, project management for sustainability and communication projects. 


Your responsibilities will include: 


  • Leading all internal and external communication of social and environmental initiatives across the business area and developing and executing internal communication strategies to effectively convey relevant company/BA-level updates, projects, and sustainability efforts to employees, ensuring alignment across all levels of the BA organisation. 
  • Establishing key priorities and driving selected sustainability projects/initiatives in close collaboration with affiliates by engaging with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. support and guide the affiliates in driving on-the-ground activities) and ensure their implementation in-line with NovoNordisk’s strategy.
  • Being the anchor for Defeat Diabetes and Circular for Zero and securing that the global strategies are understood, communicated, rolled-out and executed in close collaboration with Region Emerging Markets, International Operations and Headquarter. 
  • Developing and executing external communication strategies to effectively convey the BA’s main initiatives to relevant external-facing stakeholders, additionally supporting and guiding affiliates in driving local communication efforts. 
  • Producing and working with complex sets of data including conducting analyses on this data and creating compelling content including, but not limited to, press releases, presentations, reports, newsletters, and social media posts. 

Qualifications 
You hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, sustainability, communications or similar within at least 7years’ experience in communication and project management. You are fluent in both written and spoken English and in addition to this, you are: 


  • A strong project manager with an analytical approach to projects. 
  • Highly skilled at preparing executive level communication with a knack for turning complex information into simple and compelling messages. You possess good writing and editing skills with an advanced knowledge of the MS Office suite. 
  • Known for building good relations with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. 
  • Highly accountable with a drive for results, a can-do-approach and the ability to work effectively within a team. 

About the Department 
Business Area Africa is one of the fastest growing business area which covers 53 countries under 5 Affiliates: South Africa, Egypt, Middle Africa, Morocco and Tunisia. From our Business Area office in Istanbul, we set strategy, drive impactful initiatives in support of the strategy and provide functional support to the General Managers and functional colleagues across these affiliates. We are patient centric, purpose-driven and have a value-based culture, focusing on inclusion, engagement and people development.


Corporate Affairs function is newly established which is responsible for Strategy, Data & Insight, Sustainability, Communication and Media for 53 countries within Business Area Africa. Sustainability and Communication Manager will be playing key role in Africa where NN has several programmes and partnership to reach more patients in Africa, like iCARE, Changing Diabetes® in Children (CDiC).
