World Business Lenders (WBL) provides general purpose short-term real estate collateralized commercial loans to a broad customer base comprised of small and medium sized businesses throughout the United States that lack access to traditional funding.

WBL is a U.S.-based company with a 100% remote workforce.

This is a remote Contract/Consultant position. Generally, working hours will be 9:00am-6:00pm Eastern, Monday through Friday, although hours worked may be greater based upon operational requirements. The job requires excellent oral and written command of the English language. Resumes must be submitted in English.

About the Job: 

In a fast paced, high expectation, results oriented environment, the Litigation Counsel will oversee all of WBL's litigation matters and administrative proceedings, including employment and other commercial litigation in which WBL (or an affiliate) is a plaintiff or defendant and enforcement of WBL’s (or an affiliate’s) rights and remedies in connection with defaulted loans (including foreclosures, bankruptcy, evictions and title claims), as well as inquiries from/investigations by state and federal regulators and state attorneys general.  

Responsibilities: 

• Craft and review legal strategy in response to any litigation/inquiries/investigations. 

• Provide advice, guidance, and support in connection with litigation/inquiries/investigations. 

• Recruit, train, supervise, manage and develop in-house attorneys and staff. 

• Select, communicate with and manage outside counsel. 

• Manage legal expenses and litigation costs. 

• Develop and maintain policies and procedures in connection with the prosecution, defense and management of litigation/inquiries/investigations, including reports to executive management, the Board of Managers and business partners. 

• Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
