As Portfolio Strategy and Launch Excellence Head, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction related to our portfolio transformation, including portfolio strategy, innovation in business model to ensure the right resource allocation to the portfolio, forecasting and best-in-class launch excellence framework and capabilities to bring maximum value to deliver on our ambition. Such role includes strong forecasting, launch excellence capabilities, transformative leadership, entrepreneurial spirit related to business development/partnership with strong project management skills.


Key Responsibilities:


Portfolio Strategy and Forecasting:


  • Develop and implement comprehensive portfolio strategies in alignment with GSK’s overall business goals.
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis, competitive landscape assessments, and opportunity evaluations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize key portfolio initiatives, including Commercial, Finance, Regulatory and Commercial.
  • Focus on the company portfolio with a lifecycle management approach to maximize value generation.
  • Lead the development of financial forecasts, models, and scenarios for the product portfolio.

Market Analysis & Insights:


  • Ensure market research & competitive analysis conducted properly and effectively to support portfolio decisions and identify emerging trends.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on market data & launch portfolio.

Launch Excellence:


  • Develop comprehensive launch plans utilizing the GSK Global Launch Excellence framework and tailoring strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Direct responsibility for leading the Launch excellence process for the early pipeline, which before 1 year to Regulatory approval.
  • Developing innovative/robust approaches that provide preliminary business opportunity assessment and establish early commercial strategy for the successful introduction of future pipeline assets in the TR market, ultimately maximize the value of the assets to be delivered to the eligible patients. (for the assets, relevant brand leads/teams not assigned.)
  • Understand TMP/TVP (target medicine/vaccine profile) and ongoing clinical studies of new assets/competitors to articulate competitive brand positioning and develop the preliminary commercial strategy.
  • Work with stakeholders (Medical, Regulatory, Clinical Operations, Market Access, Finance, Supply, Quality, etc.) to assess business opportunities of NPI assets with consideration of the evolving market environment and competitive landscape.
  • Conduct market analysis and competitive landscape assessments to develop/improve launch strategies.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and milestones for successful product launches.
  • Benefit from technology & data to identify the best potential for launch brands.
  • Strategic communication with key stakeholders to cascade global strategies with LoC teams and discuss any key opportunities/risks/support needed for LoC excellence.

Business Development & Alliance Partnerships:


  • Develop, Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including business development and alliance projects, licensing deals, and collaborations.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and financial assessments to inform decision-making.
  • Develop and present business cases and strategic recommendations to senior leadership with strong collaboration with Finance & BU teams.
  • Negotiate and execute partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with GSK’s strategic goals and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Track performance very closely when the deal is onboarded and become a single point of contact for partners within GSK.

Stakeholder Engagement (Internal & External):


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the successful implementation of portfolio initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. marketing, medical, sales, regulatory, market access) to drive portfolio and launch strategies.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and financial assessments to inform decision-making.

Project Management:


  • Lead and manage cross-functional launch teams to ensure timely and effective execution of launch activities.
  • Create detailed project timelines and ensure adherence to deadlines.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Why you?


Basic Qualifications


We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience (with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role).
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably with familiarity in the Oncology & Hematology portfolio, as well as HIV and Respiratory.
  • In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including market dynamics, regulatory environment, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of launch excellence, alliance management, and business development models.
  • Analytical thinking, including business finance knowledge, navigation in complexity, project management, communication & influencing, transformative leadership, problem-solving, and strategic thinking.
  • Solid experience working with senior leadership is an asset.
