Your Role The Transportation Distribution Engineer is responsible for optimizing and managing the flow of goods throughout the supply chain, ensuring efficient and cost-effective distribution operations. This role requires a deep understanding of logistics, transportation systems, inventory management, and warehouse operations. The Transportation Distribution Engineer will use engineering principles to design and implement solutions that enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure customer satisfaction. Your Responsibilities
Develop and implement distribution network designs to optimize transportation routes, warehouse locations, and distribution centers.
transportation options (truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), parcel, air freight) to identify the most cost-effective and efficient mode of transport for specific shipments.
Optimize inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while ensuring timely replenishment of goods and fulfilling customer demand.
Implement and manage logistics systems, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and Order Management Systems (OMS).
Analyse logistics data, including transportation costs, delivery times, inventory levels, and customer satisfaction metrics, to identify areas for improvement and optimize operations.
Conduct network engineering studies, route optimization, and cost calculations to refine distribution processes and design more effective systems.
Prepare reports on logistics performance (e.g., on-time delivery rates, inventory turnover, freight costs) and present findings to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
Ensure all logistics operations comply with applicable regulations, including transportation safety, environmental laws, and import/export requirements.
Implement supply chain visibility tools to track shipments in real-time and quickly address disruptions.
Participate in strategic planning initiatives, aligning logistics goals with broader business objectives.
Contribute to corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives by promoting sustainable logistics practices and reducing environmental impact.
Your Skills and Experiences
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve logistical challenges.
Proficiency in logistics software systems, including WMS, TMS, and OMS.
In-depth understanding of inventory management, transportation modes, and logistics regulations.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, customers, and vendors.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
Native Turkish speaker and good command of written and spoken English.
