Area Sales Manager Turkey Travel Retail
You will work closely with the Regional Sales Director, responsible for all aspects of territory management and field force deployment (where applicable). You will establish strong relationships with the trade and actively contribute to the implementation of consumer and trade programs. Additionally, you will manage the execution of these programs, monitor KPIs, and track competitive activity, reporting findings to the relevant Marketing and Sales functions. Collaboration with the regional team and other Sales and Marketing functions will also be key.
Position:
The Area Sales Manager Turkey Travel Retail will be responsible for:
- Implementation of Plans & Strategies: Responsible for executing sales, distribution, and marketing strategies, including merchandising, shelf-space, and promotions, as defined by the Planning Group, Regional Sales Director, Marketing Team, Sales Analyst, and GTR teams. Monitors progress and material quality, recommending corrective actions where needed. Adapts plans to channel and account requirements, ensuring alignment with global strategies
- Data Gathering & Reporting: Ensures access to customer IT systems for data gathering and reporting on sales, IMS, invoicing, orders, stock, and investment. Analyzes monthly reports against KPIs and provides recommendations to optimize performance
- Account/Customer Engagement Program: Develops and implements local account plans, contributing to International Key Account (IKA) plans. Focuses on customer engagement using JTI's approach to drive tobacco sales and overall spending. Manages local and IKA account agreements, ensuring compliance with JTI’s processes and supporting sales and marketing programs
- Annual Business Plan & Reviews: Develops and executes plans including Feb, May, Sept, and Nov Latest Estimates (LE) and Strategic Plans. Includes historical analysis, SWOT, costed strategic options, annual goals (investment, volume, margin), and KPI tracking. Establishes an 18-month rolling forecast for each planning node and manages the market P&L
- Retail Sales Consultants (RSC): Works with the Regional Sales Director to manage and implement the JTI RSC program, including recruiting, coaching, and managing 3rd party agencies and individual RSCs to achieve 'best in class' consumer understanding and brand activation

Requirements:
- University degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in sales, distribution/channel management, or field trade marketing
- Experience in consumer/trade promotions, preferably within FMCG/Travel Retail, with Key Account Management experience
- Cross-cultural and cross-functional experience is a plus; Travel Retail experience is an asset
- Experience in Trade Segmentation, Merchandising Management, or Key Account Management
- Proficiency in logistics and order management
- Experience in distributor management, total pricing, and trade margin management
- Strong data gathering, KPI monitoring, and reporting skills
- Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of external factors (taxation, trade pricing, corporate affairs)
- Fluency in both Turkish and English is required
