About This Role
We’re looking for an Operations & IT Engineer who thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys building smooth internal processes. This role offers a unique opportunity to make an impact across two innovative sister companies, Cognira and RetSci. You’ll take ownership of key IT/OPS initiatives, including managing cloud infrastructure operations for both companies, overseeing hardware and software needs, and maintaining clear documentation to optimize processes.
What You'll Do
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure
- Build tools to reduce errors and enhance the customer experience
- Perform root cause analysis for production issues
- Investigate and resolve technical problems
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
- Implement backups and disaster recovery strategies
- Provide help desk and internal IT support
- Manage incidents and ensure security best practices
- Build and maintain onboarding/offboarding workflows
- Assess and fulfill hardware/software needs
- Install and configure operating systems, networking components, and office software
- Work with software vendors to resolve operational issues
- Maintain IT equipment and infrastructure
- Manage networks (LAN/WAN, firewalls, switches, wireless)
- Onboard users to GSuite, Atlassian, Slack, etc.
- Procure IT equipment and manage vendor relationships (telecom, hardware/software)
- Create and maintain IT documentation (SOPs, server setup guides, internal processes)
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with DNS, TCP/IP, and other networking concepts
- Experience in IT support and administration, troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Ability to take on responsibilities and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
Collaborative attitude, with a willingness to share and use best ideas
Nice to have:
- Experience with virtualization environments and/or cloud providers (Azure/AWS) is a plus
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools is a plus
