Job Description
Support the Gas Seal Support System Field Services, Bidding, Reliability studies and Business Development globally by supporting the Sales & Aftermarket organization and customers, specifically in EMEA region.
Manage and execute various Turbomachinery business activities within the scheduled timeframe and budget allocated.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Promote & embrace the Smiths behavioral competencies & business ethics. Shall be self-driven, self-motivated and embrace change.
- Maintain excellent service and build good rapport with customers and both internal and external stakeholders.
- Frequent traveling within and / or outside EMEA region (Global Travelling) will be required with a very short notice as business demands.
- Prospect and conduct site feasibility studies on the complete Turbomachinery portfolio related opportunities, including pursuing the necessary follow-up activities.
- Provide customers with technical support and solutions, including field service, commissioning, troubleshooting, and training as may be required from time to time.
- Visit offshore and onshore customer installations / sites based on the customer requests and attend service activities to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- The individual shall support the Sales & Aftermarket team to develop a lead into opportunity by conducting site survey or customer visit for requirement analysis and provide tailored business and technical presentations.
- Conduct sales and technical presentation (including on-site training) on Turbomachinery related products and to support existing business and identify new opportunities.
- Liaise between Customer and various internal functions like engineering, supply chain, production, and product line department to offer engineered solutions as appropriate to the customer’s technical and commercial requirements.
- Support sales and aftermarket team in developing commercial bid and offer necessary technical advice as required. Create and manage detailed technical and commercial proposals along with justifications for important (and turnkey) projects.
- Manage and execute Dry Gas Seal & Support System First Fit (green Field) and Retrofit / Upgrade projects (Brown Filed) within the scheduled timeframe and budget allocated.
- Support company’s Global Initiatives, Strategies, and New Product Development and Business Development. Point of contact for product line departments as Voice of the customer (VoC) and support in defining product outline if necessary.
- Drive pre-order engineering / FEED and post order detailed engineering projects wherever needed and as assigned by the line management.
- Review of technical/project specifications from customer. Support and proofread technical reports before issuing to customers.
- Ensure project is executed to company’s quality standards and customers’ expectations. Monitor & control project schedules and prepare project activity reports & required project documentation.
The Individual
Skills and Responsibilities:
- University Degree in Instrumentation/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical Engineering or similar field
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Rotating Equipment experience
- Hands on experience in Field Services.
- Experience of working in a multinational and multicultural environment
- Customer Presentations, Technical Trainings and Project Management
- Sufficient technical knowledge in the filed of instrumentation and fluid systems.
- Familiar with international standards like API, ISO, ASME, NACE, ISA and other common industrial standards
- Familiar with Shell DEP and other major End User standards are added advantage.
- Familiar with process simulation software like Hysis or Chemcad is an added advantage.
- Strong Commercial and Technical Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
