The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of thermal battery systems, heat exchangers, blowers, refrigerants, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), concentrated solar panels, PV panels, phase change materials (PCM), CO₂ refrigerants, radiative panels, and high-insulation materials. This role involves designing, analyzing, and optimizing thermal systems for energy efficiency, sustainability, and performance.
Key Accountability Areas
- Thermal System Design & Analysis:
- Develop and evaluate designs for thermal battery systems, heat exchangers, blowers, and radiative cooling panels.
- Perform detailed thermal and fluid analysis using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
- Material and Technology Application:
- Apply expertise in phase change materials (PCM), high-insulation materials, and CO₂ refrigerants to design efficient, sustainable thermal management solutions.
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials to enhance energy efficiency and thermal regulation in various applications.
- Energy System Integration:
- Work on the integration of thermal systems into larger energy management solutions, including concentrated solar panels and PV panels for energy harvesting and storage.
- Design and optimize systems for renewable energy applications, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals.
- Testing & Optimization:
- Conduct performance testing and validation of thermal systems and components, ensuring that they meet design and performance criteria.
- Continuously improve designs by optimizing components such as heat exchangers, radiative panels, and blowers for enhanced performance and reliability.
- Project Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution from concept through to implementation and validation.
- Manage timelines, resources, and budgets to meet project goals.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare detailed technical reports, design specifications, and presentations.
- Document all aspects of design, analysis, and testing processes for future reference and continuous improvement.
Role Accountability
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in thermal engineering or a related field, with hands-on experience in thermal battery systems, heat exchangers, and refrigerants.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CFD, FEA, and thermal simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
- Knowledge of refrigerants, especially CO₂, and experience with advanced thermal materials (PCM, high-insulation).
- Experience with renewable energy integration, particularly in PV solar panel and CSP applications.
