The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Design Manager – Structures with expertise in structural engineering, particularly in both construction technical office work and design. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex on-site challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the construction, design, and technical teams, ensuring seamless communication and efficient issue resolution.
- Review and manage technical submissions, drawings, material requests, and method statements, ensuring full compliance with project specifications and construction standards.
- Work closely with design consultants to resolve design-related challenges and implement necessary modifications based on site conditions and construction constraints.
- Support the construction team in resolving technical issues, particularly those related to design execution and material handling.
- Monitor and document design changes, ensuring proper implementation without disrupting the project timeline.
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction technical office roles, particularly in large-scale structural design and construction coordination.
- Strong expertise in prestressed concrete structures and experience handling complex construction challenges such as limited site access or material logistics.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, with experience coordinating between design and construction teams.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage complex technical discussions and provide effective solutions.
- Experience working on complex, large-scale construction projects, preferably including high-rise or major infrastructure structures.
- Experience working on complex construction projects, ideally involving high-rise or large-scale structures.
