Role Summary:
You will be responsible for the planning of freight activities and remain engaged in the economical movement of inbound and outbound shipments. You will supervise duties and responsibilities for freight products in conjunction with appropriate DSV SOPs to ensure an effective and efficient operation.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees documentation activities with customer & agent of the import and export operations.
- Provides technical expertise to staff on all matters relating to Freight services.
- Provides value added services to existing and potential clients.
- Monthly profits and statistical reports; ensures billing and payables are kept up to date.
- Maintains employee records, attendance, evaluations, and discipline.
- Provides support on computer applications to freight staff including cross training.
- Experienced in office administration and supervising a designated group of people.
- Responsible for selection of carriers and routing of shipments.
- Confers with the respective managers to produce internal company communications.
- Ensures the accuracy of documents movements with related departments.
- Oversees the representation of a positive organizational image and builds excellent relations.
- Supervises, coordinates, and participates in meetings/tasks as required.
- Maintains databases and related records pertaining to the job.
- Delegates work assignments for assigned personnel.
- Development and motivation of staff; training identification and requisitioning to Line manager.
- Appropriate monitoring, reporting, communication, and liaison.
- Any other related duties/projects assigned by the supervisor from time to time to meet the business needs.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 years of Freight operations experience.
- Proven experience in customs management and compliance.
Competencies
- Excellent spoken, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with customs software and systems is an asset.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
