Lead and Manage Testing & Commissioning Activities:
Oversee all testing, commissioning, and handover phases of projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. Lead testing activities for both mechanical and electrical systems, control systems, and integrated solutions.
Collaborate with Design & Engineering Teams:
Leverage your design background to ensure that commissioning activities are aligned with the original design specifications and requirements. Provide guidance on design changes or modifications required for system performance optimization during commissioning.
Develop and Implement Commissioning Plans:
Create and manage detailed testing and commissioning plans, including methodologies, schedules, resources, and risk assessments. Ensure all testing is carried out in compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Ensure all commissioning activities are performed with a focus on quality control, safety, and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Manage inspections, approvals, and certifications required for system handover.
Risk Management and Problem Resolution:
Identify potential issues and risks during testing and commissioning phases. Proactively address challenges, troubleshooting system issues and providing solutions to ensure seamless project delivery.
Team Leadership and Coordination:
Manage, mentor, and guide the testing and commissioning team, ensuring effective collaboration with internal departments (design, engineering, operations, and procurement) and external contractors or vendors.
Client Interaction and Reporting:
Regularly communicate with clients and stakeholders, providing status updates, technical advice, and reports on testing and commissioning progress. Address client concerns and feedback in a professional and effective manner.
Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies, optimizing procedures, and implementing best practices in testing, commissioning, and design integration.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications in testing, commissioning, or project management is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 20 years of experience in testing and commissioning in a relevant industry. Proven experience leading and managing commissioning teams.
Design Background:
Strong understanding of engineering design principles and the ability to interpret design documents, specifications, and technical drawings. Experience in design review and integration of systems during commissioning.
Technical Expertise:
Expertise in testing and commissioning of complex systems, including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems. Knowledge of commissioning software tools and techniques is a plus.
Leadership Skills:
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills. Ability to coordinate between diverse teams and external parties to drive successful project delivery.
Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to resolving issues during commissioning.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications in testing, commissioning, or project management (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, etc.) would be an advantage.
Safety and Compliance Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of industry safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements, including international and local codes and standards (e.g., ISO, IEC, NEC).
